BeerEssential (91), Massachusetts, USA Jun 29, 2008 On first pour this is a fairly clean yellow beer, however there was a noticeable amount of sediment stuck to the bottom of the bottle which, once flushed out with a swirl of beer, created the typical cloudy witbeer look. Head starts off white and fluffy, but fades to nothing with no lacing. Aroma is is very lemony, like a cough-drop...quite artificial. Taste is very lemony-orange with a bit of a bitter finish. I give it the highest marks for palate, since this is a refreshing summertime brew, but I’ll stick with other, more traditional tasting Belgian Whites.
weezfour (96), Oradell, New Jersey, USA Jan 3, 2009 Damn solid belgian white. Too bad Im drinking this in the winter though, would be a great summer afternoon beer. Lots of bite and tons of citrus zest. j12601 (118), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Dec 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours an almost opaque honey color, as there is just that much haze and cloudiness to the beer. Looks almost like grapefruit juice. Large bone white head which falls rather quickly. Sweet honeyed tones and spicy citrus notes comprise the aroma. Mouthfeel is thick, and follows up on the aroma with sweet citrus flavors, a little lime like. Finishes almost nondescriptly. Very gentle and laid back, seems like the sort of thing I could drink a large amount of on a hot summers day. Certainly not what I generally go looking for in a beer, but it is tasty and easy drinking. elihapa (461), Hawaii, USA Nov 20, 2008 11/4/08 notes: Hurray for Obama! I had this before the election was determined. Unfortunately, by no means was this a special beer to celebrate with. Poured a cloudy yellow, with an aroma heavy on candy, sugar, and an artificial orange marmalade smell. Complemented by a light palate, I tasted some simple citrus fruit along with some light wheat. Since I had this in a blind tasting, I must admit this tasted like an A-B offering, or at best, one of Leinenkugal’s girly wheats. Lubiere (3524), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2008 A milky opaque yellow wit with a thin white head. A lightly skunky wild herbal aroma, with odd sulfury notes. In mouth, fresh and creamy wit, rathe rlight and, in the end, non-descript. Sampled at Vermont Brewfest July 19 2008. kevd193213 (353), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Slighthly cloudy yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma of lemongrass and orange peel. Taste of wheat and lemon with some other spices. Even slightly sweet finish.
