Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

Just looking at the label, I kind of had a feeling like I was setting myself up for a fall. But oh well. I am doing this for the sake of growing my palate. Pours a crystal clear straw with no head. This is a wheat beer, right? Nose is like Captain Crunch cereal. Really. I am not stretching this. Captain Crunch. With the berries. Flavor is like...Captain Crunch Berries in my beer. I might not even make it to two sips here. This is ridiculous. I am sorry. But this could quite possibly be the worst fruit beer I have had...or the worst in a long time. Feel. This feels like a host of macros plaguing my tongue. Drinkable? Sure. If you just want to have a load of boring beer. No great berry character. Obvious artificial flavorig. Drain Pour. Avoid like the plague.

Crisp golden color with a small white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Sweet berry flavor and not much else, light , highly carbonated, almost like alcopop. Be good on a really hot day.

Poured from: bottle. Drank from: Duvel tulip. Temp: cellar. Dated: 02/13/07. Appearance: exactly like a pale lager in every respect. Aroma: watermelon candy. Body: light. Texture: thin. Carbonation: sharp and biting. Flavor: wheat soaked in chemicals. Finish: dry. Overall impression: quite poor.

Smells great. Then lets down. The malt and hops really needed to be eased back to let the blackberry take over. Too strong a malt so it interferes with the fruit. Not a disaster, but not the right mix. Bit artificial taste as well.

clear yellow, scant head, light sweet blackerry aroma and flavor, lingering light sweetness, tasty but may be too much in a full pint

12 oz bottle in blue mt. lake, ny. faint berry flavor beneath a light bodied beer. solid beer, thirst quenching, and excellent w/ food. was upset to see low alc content.

This beer had a great opportunity tro impress me - I had missed lunch due to a late connecting flight and found myself starved and thirsty on a beautiful summer day on the shore of Lake Champlain. It was mediocre at best. Little aroma, faint berry taste, and rather sharp, but not very thirst quenching. Oh well.

now i liked this beer because it had a nice candy blackberry flavor and it had a good somewhat pronounced wheat backbone that reciprocated a balance. off beat but interesting and inhabitating an area of it’s own. new style is not easy for everyone and this blackbeary was worth the try. it was strangly light and pale looking. oh well doesnt really matter.
