Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

Bottle. Pale golden color, medium white head, body is transparent. Aroma is faint blackberry. Flavor is slightly blackberry, not overpowering but very tasty. Not a lot of wheat or yeast flavor, but a decent dessert beer.

light yellow pour that doesn’t look all too appetizing with about an inch foamy head. aroma is a very weak berry scent. First sip weak everything. Though after the first couple sips the tastes became more defined but still not quite what i expected or wanted. weak berry aftertaste that tastes fake. overall pretty dissapointing.

on tap at a bar called the iron horse in westwood nj. clear pale yellow color, white thick foamy head. aroma like stale wet straw/grass, a little sour and super faint berry. flavor is wheat malt based, but pretty weak and the berry tastes like flinstones chewables.

12 oz bottle from Nate. Pours light yellow with small white head. Fruity, berry aroma with a bit of citrus. Not too overpowering in the fruit department, actually rather subtle. Wheat in the background. Not bad.

Blackbeary Wheat is very pale with a small white head that vanishes quickly. It’s quite sparkling. It looks like a Heineken! The aroma is sweet blackberry. It seemed rather artificial until I actually started drinking it. There is a light wheat aroma in the back. The berry doesn’t dominate the taste-- it’s actually kind of subtle. The bitterness is light and helps make the taste come to a quick, clean finish. It’s a bit grassy and a bit citrusy. The flavor is pretty well-blended. There is something hollow about the wheat-- a very treble flavor. Overall, not bad!

Out of all the fruit beers I’ve tried, I can actually finish a whole bottle of this stuff. Light straw or golden-colored. Even with an aggressive pour, I couldn’t get much of a head out of this. So it doesn’t look too appealing. I’m sure you could pour Busch into a glass and they’d look identical. Smells like a wheat beer with faint esters of fruit. The taste is what wins. Light, crisp, fruity, smooth, thin, tasty. Starts good, ends good. Fruit isn’t too artificial or overpowering or sour. Just the right amount that I like in fruit beers. Commercial description mentions "subtle". Hits the nail on the head. Good first beer to start off a night of tastings.

This beer has a nice hoppy smell with a nice golden color to it. As you drink it there is a smoothy taste almost fruity on the palate. you get the best of both worlds with this beer a fruity and weat beer at the sme time.
