Commercial Description:
Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

Bottle. Pale yellow with a large creamy, lacing white head. Nose is sort of reminiscent of nail polish, might be acetone, with light bg berries. Taste is smooth, light wheat and fruitiness. No bitterness, just a strand-of-grain wheat painting. Smooth and light but not watery. Lightly jammy. Extremely inoffensive, though a little too sweet, but man, for a hot day of baseball watching or lawn mowing, this is one hell of a chugging beer.

(Bottle (stamped "060409") from Lou’s Beverage Barn) Pours clear light yellow with a few fingers of slightly off-white head. Looks much like a pale lager. Aroma of light candy-like sweet berries and some light wheat malt. Mouthfeel is kind of dryish and prickly, slightly wooden. Flavor is sort of sweet and lightly berryish, perhaps along the lines of a fruit-flavored seltzer water. Ehh, it’s pretty bland.

alittle too light for me but still very enojoyable to drink.clean taste of a wheat paired w/ a slight blackberry finish which isnt too sweet at all, just a calm taste of the berry.

Pours clear very very pale yellow color with minimal fizzy white head that quickly dissapears. Aroma is very faint, almost nonexistent of sprite mixed with berries. Flavor is way overcarbonated, kinda stale, very very watery, slightly metallic, with a very faint berry flavor. Dry finish. Overall, not good.

i laughed that i see the review that says it tastes like blackberry seltzer because thats exactly what i was saying to my friend who lovessssss this stuff. i told him the sam adams blackberry witbier is even better than this and thats not saying much. this tastes like bud light with blackberry seltzer. it goes down really harshly and makes me have a whiskey face while swallowing. never again.

A solid fruit beer. While Sam Adams produced a crappy blackberry beer, Long Trail’s version is quite good. Slight aroma of blackberries coupled with a subtle yet noticable blackberry taste. It is neither overpowering nor nonexistent. Finishes as a normal wheat beer would. I would buy a 6 pack of this.

Bottle. One of my favorite things about the summer(although they brew this year round now) is this beer. I find it to be one of the easiest drinking, tastiest, non-filling, refreshing beers out there. Nothing like it on a hot summer day..nothing. Pours like a pale lager, aroma is not overdone but just enough berry on the nose. Flavor is the same. Light bodied and superiorly refreshing.

Fruit beers, I’ve found, are really hit-or-miss. This one hits the target but it’s nowhere near the bullseye. The blackberry flavor is weak; the beer is light and refreshing. My search for the perfect fruit beer continues...
