Commercial Description:
Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

They did a decent job with the blackberries, but the beer itself is boring and insipid. Pale, clear gold with an ok head. Nice, subtle fruitiness. Weak flavor and body. Clean, but bland other than the light touch of the berries.

Bottle: poured light yellow with a small white head. Not much aroma except for a light berry scent. Not overly done. Flavor is light blackberry, only because they told me it was blackberry. Very light. Refreshing and easy drinking but so very little substance.

Only the very faintest hint of blackberry. I’m talking like...seltzer water style flavor, maybe even weaker than that. The rest isn’t very good either

There was basically nothing to this beer. Very pale yellow, champagne appearance with a small bone white head. Very weak berry aroma. Slight wheaty, fruity flavor. Light body.

Pours to a pale gold body with a thin white head. Very still. Nice wheat smell but not much else. I don’t even smell the blackberry. Tastes of bright wheat malt with a cold dry finish. Not much aftertaste. I do like that they have not overpowered the actual beer flavors with blackberry. That being said, it a very light and unremarkable ale. Quite drinkable and refreshing. Does make a good beer for a hot day.

Pours an almost clear pale yellow with a light clingy white head. Faint, fruity aroma with some berry notes, I guess. Flavor is tinny, not very fruity. Palate is slighlty metallic as well. A decent palate cleanser, that’s about it. Thanks to Aurelius for this one.

Sickly pale yellow - probably the most disgusting looking beer I’ve ever laid eyes on. Aroma is weak - a little bit of toastiness and blackberry and that’s it. There is not much to this beer. A little berry flavor, a little nuttiness, nothing more. Virtually no hoppiness. Not offensive or undrinkable, but nothing appealing either. Modeled after the lambics of Belgium? They’ve got to be kidding.
