Commercial Description:
Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

Light, very pale with a nice wee head. Sweet berry aromas with cherry fruitiness and a slight tartness brought on by some sherbert fizz. Very smooth cereal flavours with sweet and very light blackberry, blackcurrant and cherry flavours, all in the nose. Sweet airy and floating over the tongue. An odd taste in the throat for a fraction of a second then to a very cereal finish.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of mar) Pours a clear yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, artificial sweetener, and somewhat candish. Flavor of wheat and light fruit syrup with a watery mouthfeel.

Clear golden with faint head and little carbonation bubbles. Syrupy fruit aroma. Outside of the fruitiness, this has a flavor profile of a combination of an american lager and a wine cooler. Slightly off on the finish.

1-1oz. bottle bringing up the rear of the survival pack. Always tough to get a fruit beer good. This has a good black"beary" taste but is washed out of a watery base of wheat.

Liquid thinned down blackberry pancakes with too much butter. A crisp clear golden with pleasant steady carbonation. Not undrinkable but certainly avoidable in the future.

Bottle thanks to mar. Pous with a clear, yellow body and a small white head. Aroma of fake berry syrup, styrofoam and corn. Taste is fruity, with wheat and adjuncts. Watery and fizzy. Nothing even remotely "lambic" about this as the commercial description implies.
