Commercial Description:
Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

The subtle blackberry aroma was the best thing about this "lawnmower" beer. Very thin and watery, and not a very remarkable taste. I detected a slight skunkiness, but it could just be the akward combination of blackberry and beer. Better than a coors light, but not really my cup of tea.

Solid smell. As is the usual with fruit beers, the ABV% is way too low and it’s way too sugary. But not terrible.

12 oz bottle. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Nose of vinous berries and some grain. Taste is bland, grainy, earthy, touch of vinous berries. Dry finish. Palate duration is average. Flavor is very mild. good head retention and spot lacing.

Pours clear gold into a tumbler. Bright white head with excellent retention leaves spider lacing as it recedes to skim surfaced. Berry, marshmallow and stale malt aromas. Crisp with blackberries and sour malts. Dry lasting berry finish.

Not much of a nose....lacking substance and depth. I wanted fruit and rich wheat but it just was not there. Better in the mouth though. The blackberry comes through with a firm sutle stance, followed by well balanced hops and lingering prairie wheat. Slightly hoppy on the finish, and soft in the mouth.

Bottle. Sweet aroma, definite traces of berry. Pale yellow body, small head. Mild and refreshing flavor, with blackberry. Overall not at all unpleasant, but not much of a memorable impression.

355 ml bottle from a mixed sixer given to me by my dad. pours pale yellow with a quick white head. aromas are berryish with a touch of grain. the flavour is blackberry based with some american wheat ale aspects. this one is very thin and lacking any sort of memorable qualities. it might be ok as a summer thirst quensher but it did nothing for me tonight.
