Commercial Description:
Light, crisp and refreshing, Blackbeary Wheat is modeled after the spontaneously fermented "Lambics" of Belgium. Real blackberries added to the fermentation contribute a subtle fruitiness to this Summer Quencher! Available May through August.

Draught. Pale yellow pour with virtually no head. Aroma of fruit and yeast. Taste is so sweet that it tastes artificial. One is enough.

Got from my bro’ in law ’cause he knows I like craft beer. He thought I said crap beer. Pours macro lager gold with a synthetic fruity nose. The flavor is a bit tart and a bit dry in the finish. Not much else. I might have had a bad bottle, but I doubt it.

Sampled at 08 vt brewers fest. Pours a pale yellow with a small white head. Blackberry/raspberry aroma with grains and some pale malts. Flavor is similar to aroma with a touch of sweetness and has a crisp and clean finish

Tart blackberry aroma dominates the aroma. Gold creamy pour with white head and lace. Blackberry notes with a hint of sour. Light bitter finish. Foamy almost fizzy and a bit thin. Not unpleasant with a bit of an odd lingering after taste that really isn’t bad. Decent beer.

Draft - Poured a pale yellow in color with a medium, but thick white head. Aroma is an interesting mixture of grainy malt and juicy blackberries, Flavor pretty matched what I smelled... blackberry and wheat go well together. Some sweetness, but not overpowering. A very pleasant, easy drinking beer. I liked it...

Bottle. Mellow wheat and somewhat musty blackberry juice. Rather odd. Not the worst thing that’s ever crossed paths with my tongue though.

Bottle. Pours a light yellow with a thickish white head. Aroma of cranberry and raspberry/general berry fruit juice. Flavor is pretty much the same sweet juice-like notes along with a hint of wheat. Meh, too artificially sugary. If this is supposed to be modeled after a lambic...well, it misses the mark quite a bit. If you’re looking for a juice-beer, then this is perfect for you. Otherwise, I’d skip it. It’s certainly drinkable but it’s not anything special.
