Mar 26, 2009 bottle at pops- pours black with a tan head, nose is coffee black chocolate, bitter taste, from hops and some coffee bitterness. mouthfeel is really exceptional, fluffy. yet not too fluffy. some vinous characteristics as well. good stuff.

Mar 26, 2009 Very tasty brew, was shocked to find this on tap. Very good looking in glass. Poured black with fluffy tan head. Great coffee aromas and very smooth. Finish was a little weak, but very drinkable overall, would like to have this again.

Mar 24, 2009 Absolute pitch black pour with a dark tan head. Aroma is pretty much pure coffee. Flavor is very nicely balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter. Good coffee flavor with hints of dark chocolate. Ends up a bit middle-of-the-road, but is very nice, well made, and exceptionally drinkable.

Pours a dark black color with somewhat short lived tan head. Smell is coffee, a bit of milk, and chocolate like malt. Taste is freshly roasted coffee beans, chocolate, and some creamy, lactic milkiness. Body is creamy, full and rich with soft carbonation. Overall, a fantastic coffee beer, and definitely one worth trying.

Mar 23, 2009 Thanks to BDR. Black color with a large head. Light, sweet barley aroma. Solid coffee, roasted malt and chocolate taste. A little on the coffee/roasted malt bitterness side. Thick. Quite enjoyable.

Mar 21, 2009 Draft, at Philly Craft Beer Fest. Pours pitch black, topped with a big brown head. Aroma of chocolate malt, espresso and mild smoke. Hefty roasted chocolate malt, espresso, and moderate bitterness. Lots of espresso hangs out for a fairly lengthy finish. Really nice effort from Long Trail.

Mar 21, 2009 Updated: Mar 22, 2009[Draft @ 4th Avenue Pub] Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate, and faint smoke. Taste of roasted malts, cocoa, smoke, a touch of caramel, and light coffee in the finish. Not as good as the Brooklyn consumed right before this.

Mar 20, 2009 Nice malty aroma Solid malt aroma with a nice coffee and malt aroma. Minimal head. Chocolate malt body with a very solid coffee flavor.
