Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Garthicus, Blankboy, and GregClow, courtesy of Harry. Great aroma, one of the best of the night actually - alcohol, chocolate, and sweet leather - lovely. Black, small tan head, looks good. Good taste, if not a tiny bit of a let down after that aroma: oily, roasty, and sweet. Coffee porter like. Would have been incredible with a beefed up body. Good stuff though.

Pours black with a tinge of brown when held to the light. Medium tan head that held on for a while. Coffee hits the nose as soon as you pour this one. Tastes of coffee and choc. Would not call it an imperial stout but it is one of the best coffee stouts I have ever had.

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow and tupalev. Thick-looking opaque reddish-black with an average tan creamy head. Deep oily roast aroma, coffee, nutmeat, merlot and alcohol - quite a nice dry leathery character on the nose. The taste follows, not quite a smooth, a little syrupy, maybe a hint of cola and treacle. Slick, oily, somewhat thick body, with weak carbonation more than made up for by a long, aggressive bitter/burnt malty finish. A solid stout, really tells you what’s what while kicking your dog and stealing your girlfriend. I have no idea what that means either.

Black body, chocolate foam head. Deep, sweet roast greets the knows. Black barley intensifies with fresh milled grains filling the nose. Roasty body, but also a detracting dankness followed by tannic barley bitterness. Exceptionally grainy, beasty, robust stout. Dry. Burnt black patent with smoke in the finish. Makes for a good grill-out beer.

Many thanks to HogTownHarry for sharing. Appearance: Dark black, small white head. Aroma: Peat, coffee, chocolate, malt and a little smoky, nice. Flavour: Very peaty, lots of malt, smoke, chocolate, nice smooth mouth feel, long chocolate mocha finish.

(Rating #2433)

Poured oily black with a brown creamy head. Aroma of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Great smell. Started off chocolaty but as it warmed it turned into a coffee bomb. Woke my ass up.
