This amiable Double IPA offers lots of citrusy and wooden hop aromatics which segue into a light alcohol heat and a gripping resinous bitterness, as honeyed malts smoothly lay the foundations for further gulps.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sticks to the top of the hazy blond golden.
-The prickly bubbling leads to higher drinkability.
-I was prepared for a sipper, but this is very drinkable.
-The hop personality is striking and complex, delving into orangey, citrusy, coniferous, and sandy realms.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Filtered. Clear honey orange. Citrus and candy sugar nose - sugared honey and sweet pine resin. Texture is lightly oil, body is medium to light. Overly sweet sugared hop oils dominate. Thankfully there’s little malt distraction but the overt sweetness is difficult to get past.
