Pours a dark chocolate body with a creamy tan head. Nose of toasted grains and toffee. Palate feels slightly oily up front but there is a crisp dry finish that I love. Flavors are mild and build as the beer warms. Rich toasted grains, pecans, toffee, cocoa powder and nice leafy hops. In fact I would say that the hops really build the back bone of this beer, giving it that dry bitter finish and shoring up the tendency of sloppy roasty oily mundaneness. That dry finish really warms up the toffee and nutty notes, delish.

Rich dark black with a dense off white head. Aroma is big bold, roasted malts and molasses sweetness with a touch of alcohol. Flavor is sweet, roasted, balanced and quite smooth.

Pours black into a tulip. Conglomerate tan head with excellent retention leaves scant sheets as it slowly recedes. Metallic chocolate and espresso aromas. Creamy herbed pit fruit upfront turning slightly sharp in the warming lasting bitter chocolate finish.

hop and soy sauce in the aroma and taste with perhaps a bit of gravymaster. over the top alcohol with malt and a bit of dishwater hop. wine malt type taste. 22 oz bottle at $3.99 wow!! late entering touch of smoke.

blackish ruby chesnut colored body, more garnet at the edges. frothy/rocky mocha colored head with lots of craggy lacing. chocolate and toffee malts, also coffee and sweet licorice candy aromas. flavor is toffee malt, good & plenty, some powdered cocoa, roasted coffee, and a bit of bitter hop in the finish. bitter aftertaste. nice work for Long Trail!

Bottle. Pours a thick jet black with a thick mocha head. Nice big roast, dark chocolate, coffee, light dark fruit notes. Lots of dark fruit and chocolate. Long smooth roast finish with a warming booze note.

Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with ruby hues and a creamy froth of full-lacing dark tan head. Has a lightly sweet toasty dark caramel and chocolate nose with a touch of earthy grapefruity hops and coffee. Starts with pretty good fullness and sweet dark caramel and roasted malts with some good chocolate flavor and a smooth slightly warming bittersweet finish. A pretty good imperial porter.
