Bomber, bottled on 1/19/09. Poured very deep, rich brown with a short, but well-retained cap of not-quite-as-dark brown head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates and building, moderate-roast coffee accented by a little coffee hull and oak tartness and some vanilla.. tangy and warm, especially on the back.. well-balanced. The flavor had semi-sweet roasted coffee at the core with sour overtones (some woody notes like the nose, but a little vinegary character too).. chocolate, more coffee, and vanilla rolled off the back onto a long finish.. warm, but not hot. Medium-bodied with quite a bit of carbonation on the palate.. the malty base felt good, but the sourness (although not that strong) was misplaced. Very solid overall.

Bottle: pours dark black with a thin tan head, aroma of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt, taste is chocolatey with a nice bitter finish which I assume comes from the coffee, medium full mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy of Zinister. Black pour that lets little light through. Smells like a fantastic brown chocolate. Some roasted coffee. Taste has a very smooth chocolate flavor. Some dark chocolate bitter on the finish. Nice.

courtesy of BA trade. Pours blackish with nice mahogany head. Aroma, malty with nice roast, some hints of vanilla and possible lactose. Coffee comes out nicely. Flavor, thick mouthfeel, good roast, and coffee beans, some hints of lactose adding a mocha dimension. Lingering chocolate bitterness, hints of caramel and grains. Medium body, finish is velvety.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma of mild coffee, chocolate and roast. Flavor was rich coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and had a touch of smoke with a medium to full body and a dry and bitter finish.
