It was well balanced and a bit creamy on taste and you picked up the carmel again. At the end a little bit of the alcohol came through. I enjoyed this one. RCL (1492), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 12, 2008 Aroma has a distinct green apple peel element that follows through to a lesser extent in the flavor. Aside from that slight weirdness, a pretty solid brew. Good hops and malt balance. tylerss20 (101), New Hampshire, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 11, 2008 Medium brown pour, with whitish head that leaves very little behind. Sweet aroma, with caramel, cream, vanilla. Mouthfeel is pretty thin for a beer this sweet. Reminded me of a cream soda or malt chocolate drinking it. No hop at all. Decent, but pretty simple beer. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Updated: Oct 11, 2008Medium bodied with a pillowy mouthfeel, Double Bag hides its 7.2 percent alcohol content well. The aroma is malty with touch of candy, dough and raisins. It pours a coppery brown, but lacks any significant head. The first sip starts sweet but ends with a big whack of earthy bitterness that lays on the sides of the tongue producing a long finish. The hops are very subdued in the aroma lending a light metallic quality. Not quite fruity, but not floral either. One of Long Trails more flavorful entries, Double Dag is labelled an altbier, and equally displays its ale-lager heritage. changeup45 (800), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2008 First thing I noticed was the 7.2% alcohol content. Pours an almost syrupy texture, amber colored with a thin white head that leaves a little bit of lace. Very rich malty, spiced taste that stays with you until the spicy hoppy finish. There isn’t a dull moment with this beer. Good beer. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Bottle from the Cranium at work. Nose is sweet and whispy with a tinge of hops after the sweeet malts. Pours a clear crisp amber with small oily head. Body is quite light for the 7+%. It certainly doesn’t seem that way. I’ll give them balanced but just. Rich malty body, maybe on a Coors standard but not mine. Three generous addition? Whos making this beer? Accountants and bean counters. I thought Yankee generosity was a bit more hospitable than this. Well fit to stuyle but overhyped.
