| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Pours a deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma is malty and fruity and spicy hops. Taste is caramel malt giving way to fruity hop bitterness. Very smooth drinking. I don’t notice the 7.2% alcohol at all. Great beer. GTown (126), New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Draught at Park Ave fest. Pours deep copper with white head. The maple sugar was evident, as was some fruity notes. Unfortunately my tasting was hampered by the plastic cup it was served in, as well as the low 90’s degree temps outside. I will endeavor to retaste under proper conditions. cbeers21 (578), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Pours ruby/brownish with foamy, fading head. Caramel, roasted sugars, apples for aroma. Hearty warming beer, with a good dose of rich malts, and a subtle hop tinge. Light toasted chocolate, sugars, mocha, caramel. Alcohol is present but well hidden, and provides a warming sensation. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Pours a hazel brown with a thin white head. Nutty, caramel aroma, with flavours to match. A little bit to much malt sweetness with not enough hop to balance the beer, but still an interesting enough beer to keep my attention till the end. Moderate carbonation with medium body suited the beer. All and all not a bad brew but probably wouldn’t purchase again, not my style. merlin48 (519), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2007 Slightly hazed amber body with a small offwhite head. Toasty and nutty caramel aroma on a fruity hop background. Taste follows suit with a subtle fruity hop bitterness mingles with a pleasant caramel and nutty malt backbone. The alcohol is just barely noticed and fits in quite well. Very engaging. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2007 7/16/2007: Long Trail Double Bag smells sweet and malty with some toast, caramel, and light citrus in the aroma as well. The color is orang-amber and clear. A thin, off-white head slowly forms on top as the smooth, mild carbonation bubbles make their way to the surface. The flavor is rich with toasted caramel malts, mellow hops, and a hint of apples, citrus, and some other vague fruitiness. There is a long, enjoyable, lightly roasty finish. This beer has a medium to medium-full body is is very smooth on the palate. Double Bag is a really good Altbier! I’m glad that I was fortunate enough to receive a bottle.
