This 12 oz bottle, from a six pack poured a dark garnet color, with an off-white head and good rich lacing rings. Nose of caramel malts and ripe fruit. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is complex and hard to describe but is very enjoyable. A really nice drinking brew. potbeercollege (399), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Bottle. Smells of sweet malts and alcohol. Lick your lips sweet. Beautiful dark amber color, thin head that is white as snow. Aroma matches it’s appearance beautifully. Not well balanced. Can’t get over the smell. Drink it warmer; that is when the smell comes out. Wish they sold this beer in Boulder!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Bottle. Another one from LT that I love! Pours brown with a disappearing head. I love the color of this beer! Malty nose, bready, a touch of sweetness. Suprisingly light body, ever so sticky. Smooth easy drinking strong alt. Big fan. williamherbert (475), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Appears ruby red and orange. Good head retention; puffy off-white head, nice lace. Earthy malt aromas, sweet and sugary; Caramel like a Sugar Daddy. All malt in the nose with almost no hop. Just short of a toffee-laden Scotch ale smell. Heavy sugary malt flavor. Light butterscotch and heavy toffee. Sweet all around. Malty like a sweet bock; just a tad saccharine. Feels smooth and buttery on the tongue. A solid Alt, very malty and very sweet. tgncc (838), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Nutty, malty, caramel aroma, very pleasant. The appearance is an amber color, white head. Flavor is malty, sweet, caramel, bready. Very enjoyable. Finish has a an appropriately light touch of noble hops. The hops here only emerge at the end. Medoim/thick mouthfeel. Very nicely done. markwise (1193), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Pours clear caramel color with a white head. Nose is malt, nut, some band aid, and some mealiness. Flavor is some sweet malt, some mealy cereal/ biscuit, and a dull smoke in the finish. Better than the average altbier with its well-concealed 7% abv and balanced malt and smoke with the hop additions. Bitterness is not overly assertive, but waits patiently for its turn. brewski519 (424), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Brought back from a recent trip home to New England - this offering from Long Trail pours a dark amber color with an average off white head from the 12 oz bottle. Nose of malts, nuts, caramel, and fruit. Taste is matly and sweet with some fruit and nuts. Good carbonation and solid mouthfeel on this one. Long Trail brews are always solid enough that I wish they distributed in the NC region.
