Long Trail event at the Golden Rail. Pours a golden brown amber with a thin white head. Touch of smoke and toasted malt. Flavor is slightly sweet with a touch of caramel and malt. Finishes a little sweet with a light grain flavor and more malt with a nice light bitter.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy, white head, mostly diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toasted grain, nutty), light hops (perfume), heavy yeast (earth, leaves, broth) with notes of prune, dates, and brown sugar. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle. Pours a deep brown color. Nose is of Munich and other German character malts. This beer is full on the palate, tasting of the aforementioned malts, with a long, sweet finish that is malty without being cloying. Overall, a well done strong alt.

Draft and bottles. Multiple tastings. (previous tastings from memory) Tasted this as part of a sampler at the brewpub. Remembered this to be one of the better ones in the group.

I don’t even get it. The bar next to CBC says it’s a double IPA, which I knew immediately was a shameful description. Amateur nose, rosey ASA body with no lasting finish.

Bottle courtesy of dogfish120love. Pours a dark clear amber with a 2 finger beige head that results in delicate lacing. The nose is heavy caramel malt and earthy hops. The taste is caramel and toasted toffee with a nice resin finish. Medium mouth feel. Good beer. Thanks Brian!

Not overly complicated, but nice. Alcohol very well hidden. Not much of an aroma at all. A bit buttery and nutty flavor, with a definite german lager taste at the back of the throat...NOT a hoppy back-of-the-tongue bitternes at all. It actually cut through the vinegar in the saurkraut I was eating pretty well.
