Bottle. Browish amber pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Taste of malt, chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. Great full finish.

bottle poured into a shaker has an amber color with a thin white head that fell to froth on the surface. aroma has caramel malt, lightly roasted peat, sweetness, and grains. mouth feel is medium with decent coating and frothing creamy carbonation. flavor is well malted with sweet caramel but also has some richness. hops are towards the bitter side with a little pilsner character. bits of minerals come through and it becomes thicker with a malted finish and sweetness.

By far, Long Trail’s best beer. This "secret beer" or sticke, pours with a voluminous, erotic head and a deep copper, mahogany body. An appetizing aroma of caramellized malt, smoked meats, and butterscotch define this brew, and the tongue is pleasured by a velvet, buttery palate. The taste too, is very clean, buttery, and slick, sliding like oil over the tongue and bringing further hints of caramel, butter-toffee, toasted malt, and delicate, discreet hop dryness that make this beer the next best thing to a Dusseldorfer Alt, and the crown jewel of Long Trail’s brewing acheivements. I drank this, and all of LT’s other beers in a small town called Waitsfield, Vermont, not far from the brewery in Bridgewater Corners. The setting was perfect: under the stars on a cool summer night camping out in the Green Mountains.

Bottle 12 oz. 08’ camp in Millenockett. Pours deep nut brown with a tan head. Malts, bittering hops, steel cut grains. It has lots of alchol warmth and a slightly astringent bitterness. Its good at the price but not a fantastic beer.

I sampled this beer from the bottle while in MA. A good caramel malt aroma with some toasty qualities, and a bit of grainy hops too. A darker amber or color cover with an average-sized, foamy, off-white head. Sweet and malty flavor with some lingering bitterness. Good carbonation and a fuller body style, with good moisture but a dry finish. A pretty good beer, and a signifcantly higher alcohol concentration than I realized.

Bottle. Nice copper color, low tanish head. Malty aroma, nutty, caramel. Flavor is nice but alcohol is too present. Nice malt, with caramel and nuts, a touch more hops than usual for the style, though less than an Uerige. Nice, malty beer but too strong alcohol taste.

At 7%, much stronger than I expected. I found the other LTs in this sixer quite smooth and refreshing. Tho altbiery, this is more like a style of strong something; lager or ale. Candy aroma. Looks like a brown oranger transparent beer, somewhat off pale yellow. Barely any carbonation in the glass. Too much for my girlie taste buds. In your face alt, if that is what it is? Medicine stronger alky biting finish, does not hide its alky content well. Smell is only value above average. Probably would be liked by the IPA and impy stout lovers.
