Long Trail Harvest Ale is a clear brown ale with a dense off-white head that has excellent retention and lacing. It has a slightly sweet aroma with notes of caramel and chocolate. It’s medium bodied, very smooth and slightly flat. The finish is quite clean. The flavor is simple and mellow and well balanced. The malt tastes like caramel and chocolate and the bitterness is grassy. It’s so simple and very drinkable. [Sampled at the 2009 Flower City Brewers’ Fest at Frontier Field, Rochester, NY]

Bought a case thinking harvest equaled some hop - not the case. Pours light brown with slight offwhite head. Aroma and flavor both watery and sweet with slight nuttiness. Very bland beer.

Bottle. Nothing special here but not bad at all. Medium to light body. Decent flavor, kind of malty, nutty. Nothing special but wouldn’t shy away from a six pack.

From bottle, poured in shaker. Big off white head no lacing. Nice brown orangish color, not much body on tongue. Smells of malts, wood/earthyness with slight burntness. Taste follows with slight metal, little hopiness So/So

Draft and bottles. Multiple tastings. (previous tastings from memory) Tasted this as part of a sampler at the brewpub. This one did not leave much impression so may have to retaste some day.

the beer is watery but with full flavors of fruit and gravymaster. a touch sweet it is murky and with slight nuttiness (more nut shell) and light carbonation. chalky and with a touch of tang it just is not immensly drinkable.
