Commercial Description:
Here is our "Wheat Beer with Yeast." Beers brewed with a high proportion of wheat yield a crisp and refreshing flavor profile, while the addition of our special yeast adds a blend of complex citrus and spice flavors...forget the lemon wedge, this Hef' has plenty of flavor!

12 ounce bottle. Unsure where this was purchased. Spicy, peppery, crisp, light banana and light citrus aroma. Moderately hazy, orangey-yellow body with an off-white head that is fairly frothy with decent lacing. Creamy, spicy, spritzy, slightly lemony flavors present in the start. Turns a little doughy in the middle with a malty finish. Pretty good, but a touch thin.

Any first impressions?
-A voluminous ring of foam forever crowns the shiny golden haze.
-Booming banana esters are soon reduced to minty, clovey spiciness and dryness in the nose.
-Mild banana sweetness and hay-like, crunchy wheat character timidly converse.
-The fizzy carbonation almost overcomes the lean maltiness.

What if you dig deeper?
-Clovey phenols develop nicely throughout, playing with the dry yeastiness.
-The aftertaste is reclusive and yeasty, a little too dry and characterless for my tastes in the style.
-Carbonation’s slightly too active, exposing the beer’s relative thinness.
-Nothing special to be found here, just an easy-drinking weizen for those days when you don’t feel like thinking.

Bottle; no date.

Hazy golden orange, dense creamy ivory head. Smells of big ripe bananas. Nice banana esters. Some lemon and crisp wheat malt. Crisp mouth, slighlty sour wheat malt in the aftertaste. Refreshing. One of the more interesting and estery American hefes I’ve had. Very nice, Long Trail!

Smells overwealmingly of banana. Yellow-orange body withi initially thick but quickly dissipating white head. Tastes of banana and citrus, but not much else. A little hop bitterness on the finsh but not a whole heck of a lot. Medium body. Pleasant and flavorful, definitely better than some hefeweizens I’ve ever had. Yummy, but not quite as well balanced as it could be.

This offering pours a cloudy two-tier dark orange on top and light gold on the bottom that leaves a thick off-white head. The aroma is nice, banana, cloves, wheat, must, and a little sour acidic aroma. The taste starts sweet, ripe banana, apple, wheat, that is followed by a crisp carbonation filled with a mildly bitter hop balance. The finish is somewhat watery not as flavorful in the finish as I like but a good version of a Hefe-Weizen. Nice to see an American brewery tackling the style.

12 oz bottle poured into a LaFin Du Monde tulip glass. Pours a very nice color actually pale with orange tints. A bit of lacing. Aroma is present and very unique, I wouldnt call it a Hefe. A good presence of citrus fruit (orange and lemon). A candy sweetness very present as well. Not so strong on the wheat aroma. The taste is a bit weak for me. Similar presence of fruit but just not strong enough. Finishes with no bitterness and a sweetness meone candy aftertaste.

Hazy pale golden body with a fairly large head. Aroma is a blast of bananas. More cloves and some lemons too. Flavor has all of these notes, however I do not like the mouthfeel at all. The body is very watery, even for the style. Almost ’light beer’ watery. Also there is a light acidity that really doesn’t seem to mix well with this. While not completely offensive, I feel I am overrating this beer. I had it after being in 100 degree weather with insane humidity. Needless to say, I lost 5 pounds in 2 hours. Overall not bad, but I couldn’t score it any higher.
