Commercial Description:
A rich and malty, slightly sweet Winter Ale. Skillful use of brown sugar, honey, and six malts contribute to complex, warming character of this brew. Available October through March.

Transparent amber color, any noticeable aroma is missing, little hops to speak of, slight orange at the end.

Light malty aroma. Tea like color with light brown foam. Flavor is very light. Honey, malt, slight bitterness. Thin mouthfeel. Ok.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts and honey. The flavor is brown sugar, caramel, alcohol, and a mild hoppy bite in the finish. Just an average brew at best.

Bottle...Burgundy-colored pour. Flavor is of caramel and honey. An oily textured beer that is sweet and warming. Not bad at all.

A winter ale flavored with honey. It is a perfect amber jewel with a creamy, rocky off-white head. The aroma is moderately malty with caramel, pine, and earth. The flavor is fresh pear that’s well bittered (30 IBU?) with pine trees. The texture is a bit oily and the finish is short and dry from the honey. This has been my default session beer since moving back to the Eastern US.

12 oz bottle from variety pack. Dark brown pour with almost no head, easy aroma with typical winter brew spices. Easy to drink and not overpowering with the spice selection like some winter ales I’ve had (ie redhook). Not bad.

Bottle from Porterhouse; Nose has dark fruits, cloves, caramel, and brown sugar; copper colored with a small beige head; flavor has caramel, fruity sweetness, spices, and some light hop notes which last to the finish. Decent Scottish Ale!

A nice seasonal offering and has been for years now. Malt forward, warming and good looking without being over-the-top. nice.
