Flavor was rich with malts, sweetened with a light honey taste in the back of the mouth. This beer was balanced by a little dose of hops in the middle, giving a bit of a bite. An overall good winter brew without having to add any spice. Thin, simple flavor with a dry finish and lingering cereal flavor. Sweet throughout. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 10, 2006 Bottle. Clear copper color with a foamy head which quickly diminished, though leaving one band of lacing near the rim of the glass. Aroma was mostly like a sweetened honey-nut cereal, with a very very faint smokiness. Corresponding flavor of off-sweet malts like dark bread and nutty spice muffins, with some grassiness and even a bit of bubblegum. Finish was mildly hoppy but mostly dry. For a beer advertised as a winter ale, the body was kind of thin and watery. Otherwise decent for an autumnal session beer. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Bright amber body with a grayish, off-white head. Sweet, nutty malt aroma plus some mild butterscotch and warm honey. Residual honey flavors plus toasty malt and somewhat grainy malts. Finish is surprisingly dry with some woody bitterness. Decent beer that doesn’t conform to any identifiable style. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 9, 2006 Subtly sweet tasting, with some muddled malty flavors, the obvious honey, and a bit of hops for liveliness. Still, there isn’t a whole lot going on here. It tastes relatively good, but in another hour I won’t be able to remember anything specific about it. I think if it had more hops, more alcohol, or even more clearly defined flavors this beer could improve a long way. WISEGUY572 (1251), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Dark and sweet and malty but no excitement. Thin, flat and dead in the mouth. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2006 From a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pint glass. Aroma is sweet and malty with definite hop scents. Color is medium amber. Forms a moderate light colored head that dissipates fairly quickly. Flavor is malty balanced nicely with hops. The flavor lingers on the palate and there is a fair amount of carbination. Very drinkable. A good beer I would definitely purchase again.
