Not overly good as the winter brews go. I like a little flavor and this one just doesn’t provide anything special. Perhaps some would say it is so nuanced that I don’t get it, but I just don’t find much here. Will give it a second attempt though as I got two bottles as a gift.

12oz pour. Big fluffy, white head and lace through out. Nice nose except the missing aroma of peat. i like a little more smoke but this beer is very balanced and smooth as silk. I will buy this again as a whole case. A good session beer for NFL playoff football.

Draft at the Ivy League. Poured a brown/red with a smaller tan head. Aroma took a long time to warm up enough to be noticed but when it finally did it was just some chocolate malts with a slight touch of spice. Flavor had some spice undertones over a malt body with a slight bitter finish. Perhaps if this beer was served at a decent temperature it would have been more enjoyable but then again with 160 ratings and a 3.21 average maybe not.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium caramel-brown color with a large tan head. The aroma was sweet and malty with touches of caramel and fruits. The flavor was bitter, tangy and fruity with a hint of caramel and nut. The finish was long, bitter and fruity. Decent.

Bottle... Poured amber with a light, beige head. Sweet, leafy malt on the nose. A nice bitterness in the flavors that was not in the aroma. Spicy and earthy which created a soothing-warming feel. No hop flavors and had a solid malt dominance with a smoked undertone.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a an off white head. Big malty caramel body with a note of honey scotch and spices. Big bitter hop note finish thin and slightly sour. Eh not for me.

S5L3F2T4O8 HIBERNATOR Nice beery aroma. Has some gunk on the bottom of the bottle. A brownish color beer with some orange tinge. Cloudy on top because of the gunk from the bottle. Initial taste is acceptable then it develops a medicinal feel about the maltiness. Finish is bitter medicinal linger. Hangs for a while.
