JFURYCAT (782), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 18, 2009 I dig the hoppy aroma but the flavor seems a bit too bready (aka too many malts). The sticky citrus tones keep this one in the IPA bracket with some carbonation and dryness in its backbone. But flavor-wise, there is nothing mind blowing here. Not that its a horrible beer but it seems a bit unbalanced between the malts and the hops. bsm80 (144), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 1, 2009 Smooth, spicy, well-balanced IPA with a calming, lingering finish. Nice malty hints, what an IPA should be, good beer. broozer81 (63), , New Jersey, USA Aug 2, 2009 12oz bottle-Even for a original British ipa the 56 ibu’s are surprisingly hidden, citrus fruits are definitely present and plenty of malts balance this out..the unfiltered brew is true to the style which is nice..overall it has a pretty nice flavor, nothing big that stands out but still enjoyable.I’ll probably just try this once.. brewslurp (9), Switzerland does not count Jul 25, 2009 I really like this IPA. It’s more in the British tradition. Therefore, it’s not that hop heavy. But has more malt balance. Nice big head with citrus fruity aroma. Flavor is the same with some nice malts. I think it’s better on the colder side. It’s not even close to one of the "hoppiest brews in the states." Like the discription. But it’s a solid, very drinkable British IPA. Ceebs25 (217), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2009 12 oz bottle while on vacation in NY. Not a really a hop heavy aroma for an ipa, more of apa really. Still not bad with some milder, fresh citrus, some lemon grass, some butterscotch grains, apples, and other mild fruit. Pour pretty small here, with some light white head, a fairly cloudy body, and golden orange color. A nice feeling beer, and it especially works well in the summertime. Not watery, though the flavors aren’t too intense similar to their long trail ale, but they are pleasant, with just enough crisp tang. As far the flavor goes, this is a fairly fruity ipa, with some light mildly acidic citrus, pineapple, mild fruits, light herb, and cereal grains. So again, nothing spectacular here, but this is a quite drinkable and well-brewed drink, though not incredibly interesting. Leighton (234), New York, New York, USA Jul 18, 2009 Afine example of the IPA tradition. Amber color pour with a medium head. Hop scent and flavor with a crisp finish. A solid brew. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jul 8, 2009 From a bottle poured amber with a fair amount of head. Nice light hoppy flavor with a quick finish. JonnyC22 (162), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Jun 17, 2009 I think this deserves more than a 53 overall rating. It is milder than most IPAs I like, but it has good a carbonation level. Probably a good match with a burger.
