There is a bit more malt than hops int he aroma. The flavor is well balanced hops and malt. More assertiveness is needed to really grab the attention of a hop head. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA

Flavor very bland with a tiny bit of grassy hops in the finish. Didn’t remind me of an IPA at all. Rballs01 (264), Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 14, 2005 Bottle from Styles. Light amber colored with a fair white head. Some lacing. Lacking in hop aroma. A bit sour? Thin bodied. A fair IPA at best. Pailhead (2609), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 10, 2005 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Kind of a funky caramel, fruit, and very light hop aroma. Resembles and English Pale Ale more than an IPA based on aroma. Pours a transparent golden-orange with a small but somewhat large bubbled head. Very light in flavors. Almost pilsnerish with a light IPA character lingering slightly in the background. "One of the HOPPIEST brews in the States." Are you kidding me? If anyone outside of the US tries this for their first American IPA and buys into the advertising, they’ll miss out on several very good IPA’s. Don’t believer their hype!! Can I sue for false advertisement????? If I have a case here I can retire early, because these people will owe me a lot of money. rickgordon (3332), Göteborg, Sweden

Pale amber colour. Hoppy, citric nose with notes of vanilla. Pretty light bodied. Flavour is somewhat American PA-style, has a nice hoppiness with a restrained dryness/bitterness.
