Clear golden copper coloured with decent whiye head that recedes to partial cover. Strong caramel, fruity esters and a decent balancing bitterness with some grapefruit hop flavour that never overwhelms. Medium body with mildly engaging carbonation. A very good English style IPA. Golden and clear with a white head. Gentle hoppy fruity aroma. Flavor is fresh with hops, and has a dry malt flavor. Nice lingering hops. This beer IMO is only good when fresh. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Almost more malts in the nose than hops. Not sure which kind of hops, but this is certainly a non-west coast IPA. Copper amber color with a small quickly dissipating off-white head. Thin to start with some caramel roasted malts in the middle finishing rather hoppy and bitter. Not too shabby, but nothing special either. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2004 Golden amber color, off white head. Aroma of some spicy hops, but not many, and some sweet pale malts. Flavor was a bit fruity, malty, with hops as a total afterthought. Slightly dry, light bitterness, lighter bodied. Needs some work.
