Commercial Description:
British brewers of colonial times utilized the preservative qualities of hops and alcohol to assure that their "pale ale" survived the long trip to colonial India. We believe this to be one of the HOPPIEST brews in the States. ENJOY!

Bottle. Poured a hazy pale with a white head that settles to a ring and left light lace. Aroma of grass and citrus. The flavor finds hoppy citrus with a malt balance. Medium body and a mild bitterness throughout.

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains some perfume and citrus mainly oranges. The flavor is rather tame with more oranges showing through. Overall a pretty boring IPA but might work for some session drinking.

Pours a light golden color with little head but a fair amount of lacing. Smell is mostly of citrusy hops with hints of biscuits. Taste is mostly of citrus hops with a sweetness and bit of biscuit flavor in the finish. There is a slightly off flavor of a sort of metallic and musty kind of taste. The mouthfeel is average and makes it go down smoothly. This brew is nothing to write home about. Very one-dimensional with a few off flavors. I could drink a few of these easily but there is a very long list of other IPAs I would have over this one. Reviewed on: 08-20-2008

12 oz bottle courtesy of mcox90. Pour is a hazed orange golden, with a big white head the settles with big carbonation bubbles. Aroma of hoppy citrus and some resin pine. Taste is the bitter hops, citrus, pine held up by a decent enough malt backbone. Palate is unfiltered, medium. Finish is a grassy and slightly bitter. Enjoyable IPA. Thanks for sending my way, Michael!

Pours cloudy gold into a shaker. Detergent, pine and resin aromas. Astringent grapefruit from front to back, but not unpleasantly so.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden orange, white head. Aroma is hoppy and malty, sort of like a typical pilsner scent. Flavor is hoppy/skunky, some malt. I would call this a very hoppy pilsner, not an IPA. I do like it though.

Thanks hophead75. Pours a very light gold with a one finger frothy off white head. The nose was grassy, some herbal hops, sweet, light citrus. Flavor was decent, some mild bitterness, sweet malt, corn flavor, mild alcohol. Sweet and mildly bitter mouthfeel. Fades like a very bitter pils.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It had a hazy golden color with a modest, slightly off white colored head. The head has very good retention as it hangs on well and leaves lots of cool white lace rings on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a slightly floral bouquet with solid citrus and pine notes in the nose. Taste/Mouth feel: There is a solid hop presence up front and throughout. It is not over the top or in your face bitter hops but it brings solid fruity citrus and piney to the overall character. The hops are tempered by a nice biscuity malt and dry earthy yeast that give it some balance and nice complexity. The finish is slow with dry yeast and hop flavors lingering a bit but not overstaying there welcome. The body has a good solid medium feel and hardy texture with average carbonation. Notes: Very well done in my humble opinion.
