Commercial Description:
British brewers of colonial times utilized the preservative qualities of hops and alcohol to assure that their "pale ale" survived the long trip to colonial India. We believe this to be one of the HOPPIEST brews in the States. ENJOY!

A nice, drinkable and very hoppy IPA. Aroma was nice. This aroma and flavor define the words grapefruit hops. Pour was a nice cloudy orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was all hops. Almost tastes like there was a splash of grapefruit juice in here. Bitter hoppy aftertaste. Nice carbonation. While the taste isn’t very full and lasting, when it is in the mouth and immediately after the swallow it is great.

Bottle. Gold pour, smallish whitish head. Aroma is some hops, but not enough. Malt is present as well as some herbal and grassy notes. Flavor is pretty bland. Is tart and bitter also. Malt flavor is there. Could be a lot better.

Golden color, with a small off-white head. Light milk caramel and slightly grassy hops scents. Creamy malt flavors, akin to a kolsch or a cream ale. Light citric (lemon) flavor creep in in the middle and continue to build into the finish and linger. I’m left with a lemon zest flavor at the end and I feel I need some sugar to help sweeten the lemonade. I enjoy the beginning much more the the ending.

Sampled at 08 vt brewers fest. Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Hoppy aroma of pine and citrus with some floral notes. Flavor is sweet malts, pine and light citrus with a light to medium body and a slighly bitter finish

Pours and copper color cloudy. Minimal aroma. Next to no hops taste. More like a fruity lager. Not impressive for an IPA.

Really weak IPA. Not really very hopped at all, more of a fruity pale ale. That being said, it isn’t bad. Smells average, little bit fruity. Tastes a little hoppy, but pretty mellow for an IPA. Some fruit comes through in the taste along with spices. Average IPA, there are far better ones out there.

You could pick up the cascade hops in the aroma and on the first taste. Had this one at the brewery on a recent trip up north. It was tasty IPA. I think I would put it mid way through the pack.

A tastey brew from Long Trail. Pours a vibrant cloudy amber colour with a large white head, soft floral notes, and pine. Taste is moderately hopped, and generous in grapefruit and lime flavor.
