muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jan 19, 2002 Bottled, 2002. Pour/appearance: not as invigorating or unique as Guinness, certainly, but not bad; head is thick but diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma: very chocolaty-sweet, but rather weak and lacking in complexity. Flavor pretty dry and lacking in maltiness; hop bitterness at the end is pleasant & reasonable but not enough to give this a great rating. Average for this brewery I suppose, which has to mean: not recommmended. Kaya161 (1129), San Diego, California, USA Nov 30, 2000 This beer is very light for a stout(the color is almost dark red when held up to the light), it has a nice aroma and very distinct flavor. Although the label describes it as a dry Irish stout, it is a little on the sweet side.
