Mar 28, 2002 Updated: Jan 19, 2004Mar 2002 Bottled. Very dark brown, yet transparent color; medium, stable head. Aroma somewhat weak, but with interesting characteristics of bitter herbs and caramel. Flavor chocolaty and hoppy, with quite bitter, long finish. Body a little thin. Not as good as the brewer's Double Bag, but recommendable. Jan 2004 Marginally less interesting; starts out reasonably well, but where's the body? Wateriness is only good for ... water.

Feb 6, 2006 Bouteille de 12 oz achetée au Beverage Warehouse (Winooski, VT). Arôme: Odeur de caramel légèrement brûlé. Apparence: Couleur ambrée foncée avec une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de noix avec une légère touche de caramel. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture huileuse. L’effervescence en bouche est moyenne. Présence de fumée en arrière goût. (Rating #432)

Jan 30, 2007 Bottle purchased in South Burlington, labelled "Jay Peak Tram Ale". Clear amber pour with a small off white head. Sweet caramelly aroma. Malty flavor, sweet caramel. Not really balanced with hops, mostly chewy malts. Pleasant, good session beer.

Apr 22, 2008 Bottle brought back by a traveling neighbor (as "Jay Peak Tram Ale"). This brew is a clear dark amber color with a thin and foamy beige head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of sweet toffee and malt. Light, clean body with sweet grainy malt, caramel and fruit flavors. Very little hops are detected. The finish is sweet with caramel malt lingering in the aftertaste. Pretty average overall.

Jan 10, 2009 Pours red with a thin tan head. Smells of citrus, chewable vitamins, earthy. Tastes the same. A decent beer after skiing all day.
