Mild hoppy aroma matches the mild ddry slightly bitter hoppy taste. Light for an IPA and with little taste. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Long Trail’s IPA entry is a solid, if unexciting performer. Taking the stage it pours a slightly cloudy light amber with a solid medium-sized white head. The hop aroma is understated and a bit muted. Mouthfeel is prickly and ends with a long earthy hop finish. An easy drinking session IPA. Could be a good BBQ beer, but not good enough to stand on its own. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Interesting. I expected to hate it ... I don’t like Long Trail much to begin with, and the reviews were pretty awful. Actually, the beer is not bad. Looks more like a Belgian Saison than an IPA ... lemon meringue cloudy yellow with a big firm foamy head. Vanishes, leaving some lace. Nondescript nose. Tastes like floral (English) hops rather than the more common pine and grapefruit west coast hopping. Good bitter finish. Not enough malt to balance out the attempt at British hopping but not as bad as the ratings. Acknud (792), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Nice IPA. I would have hit it higher but I thought the long lasting bitter finish was a bit much. Cloudy yellow with a pine hop nose. Grapefruit citrus taste. Moderate bitterness. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA

The finish is actually really nice and refreshing, different from the rest of the beer. A little bitter and a little fruity. A quite all right IPA, probably under-rated by at least a little.
