Cask at the brewpub. One of the only things that I can say that I like about this place beer-wise (the food is pretty good) is that they always have something on cask and do a decent job of conditioning it. This brown ale was a dark brown color with a light beige head. Didn’t look like they used a sparkler, but the mouthfeel was a bit flatter than I expected, so maybe they did. The nose sadly had a hint of diacetyl that was borderline bad, along with some toasty, chocolatey malt. The flavor was dry and roasty with some chocolate and finished bitter. Medium-light body with low carbonation. Luckily the roasted malt covered up and buttery flavors that I thought might get in there, so this turned out ok.
