bulletrain76 (531), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 28, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy gold with a creamy head. Big clove, banana, and bubble-gum aroma. The flavor has nice banana and spice going on, with a little sweetness and low bitterness. Light and has ample carbonation. A nice hef; reminds me of Franziskaner, but with a little bit more hef yeast character. this was a big surprise, as I wasn’t too impressed with their other beers. Well done along traditional Bavarian lines. A definite notch above most other brewpub hefs that I’ve coma across.
bb (2069), Martinez, California, USA Jul 18, 2007 Draft. Hazy straw color with a whitish head. Low wheat and malt flavor. Wheat flavor with some clove and banana. Medium body. Lingering spice/wheat. Nice balance. Not bad. Best beer of their’s that I had. riversideAK (1561), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 1, 2007 One of the two beers that I actually remember having here. Very clovey and banana aroma. Pours yellowish and hazy with a small head. Flavor is strong banana, clovey esters etc. Pretty standard German Hefe. Pretty thin and very drinkable. Ale_Drinker (1065), Sunnyvale, California, USA Dec 5, 2005 Decent hefeweizen with good ester profile. Lots of flavor to this guy, unlike most of their other beers. I would order it again. CaptKirk (175), Hephzibah, Georgia, USA Nov 29, 2005 The appearance is very cloudy with a white head, as a good hefe should be. Strong banana and citrus aroma. I really like a good hefe, but this seemed lacking to me. There description mentioned a bubblegum overtones. Maybe that played a part in my mind, but I thought it was just ok.
