bulletrain76 (531), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 28, 2008 Cask at the brewpub. They called this a mild, but it was straw yellow colored and had plenty of hop flavor, so it seemed to fit much better as a bitter or an English pale ale. It had a lasting creamy head, really grassy hop aroma, and plenty of grassy, earthy hop flavor over a light and dry pale malt body. The mouthfeel was thin and a little flat, but not too much less than i would expect, being served on cask. The hops and cleanliness of the malt flavor really suggested a German Pilsener to me. Not overly bitter, but lots of grassy hops and dry malt flavor. An odd duck, which I don’t think really falls into and neat category, but an interesting beer.
