Bottled (Thanks stoutlover72!). Hazy amber colour, not much head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol, yeast, mild fudge and some liquorice and herbs. Flavour is quite much the same along with quite much grassy notes. A rather nice Belgian Strong Ale.

murky brown pour, slight offwhite head. Nose is very herbal, slight fruit, some anise, some light cocoa. taste is herbal, savory, some licorice, the rosemary is evident, dark malt with some nice fig notes. a bit of booziness and wood at the end. Lost Abbey never ceases to amaze me with their incredibly interesting and tastey beer. Kudos

750ml bottle which cost me $10 from Hi-Time Wine Cellars. I shared this with a friend which was good given the strength. The color was dark brown with no head and no carbonation. Smells slightly sour, licorice, alcohol. It took awhile to taste the raisins but they are there. Another interesting beer from Lost Abbey. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-13-2008 05:41:51

Small brown head. Dark brown body. Vinuous herbal roasty aroma with eucalyptus notes. Dry-acidic intense spicy eucalyptus taste with roasty wild berry notes. Disharmonic. Dry-acidic chocolate and wild berry taste with eucalyptus notes. Decent, but tastes clash. (Oslo beer junta tasting.)

C&C 750 mL bottle shared by Immy at his own Backyard Throwdown. Pours a burnished hazy copper color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Funky aroma has tart cherry and dark fruit notes. Taste is toffee, cherries, berries, light chocolate and very light funk. Full bodied.

Bottle thanks to hophead22
Opaque cherry coke color, bubbly beige head. Nose of ginger, apple and berry. Sweet flavor, more spice and some bread, also hints of alcohol and dried fruit. Sticky mouth, rather thin, finish in brown sugar and almond. The alcohol emerges a little more with warmth. Pretty decent beer, but it never elevates itself past that.

Sample at July 17, 2009 Beer Club meeting. Dark like stained mohagany! No lacing... at all. Aroma is unmistakable. Roasted malt and anise. Flavor reminds me of something from the dentist’s office. One of the most unique flavors I’ve experienced in a long time. Log lasting, almost cherry finish.
