The pour is mahogany with a short off-white to tan head that settled into a thin little crescent shaped design in my Chimay glass. The aroma was a bit hot initially, and full of grapes and malt. As it opened up more spice, wood, smoke and thin chocolate came out. The flavor was raisin, wood, light floral and pine hoppiness and some smoke. Didn’t realize this had Brett in it until after the fact. Mouthfeel was almost thin in body, somewhat watery, but it made it easy to get through the bottle.

2008 bottle thanks to kegbear. Very cool bottle with a great label. Real spiced rgrape flavor. A little too much alcohol and raison in the initial taste but as it warmed to room temperature much more flavor began to appear. Real well balanced kind of sweet with a nice alcohol finish. I liked this one.

bottle of the 2008. Pours a dark brown with a whispy head. The aroma is very vinous with grape and spices like cloves. Mouthfeel is pretty thick. The flavor begins estery, sweet, malty, then emphasis is placed on rosemary, honey, plums. The full, juicy body fades to a drier, earthy finish, borderline bakers chocolate. A honey sweetness is noted throughout. This is very well executed Belgian ale it never comes across excessively spiced or sweet, but maintains an aggressive presence.

Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Brown in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Very spicy aroma, with notes of rosemary, tarragon, thyme, and allspice, along with a bit of funk and pale malts. Not quite as spicy in the mouth, with a fine balnce being created between the lightly toasted malts, funky brett, and coriander notes. Loads of complexity without going over the top.

Dark and rich brown pour with substantial tan head. Tha nose is strong licorice, dried dark fruits, raisins, alcohol, and a touch of Brett-funk. The flavors are licorice strong upfront, dried fruit, roasted grain, Brett funk, sticky sweet dark roasted grains, honey, and a wine-like residue in the finish. Excellent effort here.

Draught at the tasting room. Very dark pour with a medium tan head and some lacing. Mostly rosemary and rummed fruit in the aroma. The flavour has more of the same but you also pick up on the brett yeast. Really great sipping beer that was awesome all the way up to room temperature.

Flaske. Kaffe farvet med et beige skum. Dufter af masser af krydderier og chokolade. Smager af mørke tørrede frugter, bær, og noget alkohol. Masser af karbonering og en syrlig prikkende fornemmelse.
