Bottle of the 2008. Poured a dark ruby color with a frothy off white head. Strong raisin smells with a light honey, and a leathery/smoke smell. Taste hits very alcoholic at first then spiced raisins and prunes like a port almost. Also some brown sugar and sweet hard candies. Perhaps a bit of the rosemary dancing in there as well. Has a warm mouthfeel with a slight bitterness and a slight chew. Yeast flavors come in late. Very complex beer.

Honkeybra kicks ass. Nose is like a red wine. Incredibly interesting profile in aroma and flavor. Imagine Scarlett Johanssen naked and really pregnant: not sure whether to be turned on or scared. Flavor is very complex, but always seems to settle on a robust red wine flavor. One crush of this brew is enough for me.

2008 bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin film of a head that rings around the glass. Aroma has plumbs, rosemary, a little citrus and leather. Flavor is brown sugar and port wine, a bit of funky leathery brett, and spicy. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, and carbonation is a bit low. The beers pretty good, though I wonder how it would be with a bit of age on it.

Year-old bottle.

I’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time. Pours quite nice, deep rich brown, cola-like, modestly carbonated. Lovely aroma, brown sugary, plums and spices. Flavor is drier than expected and heavier on the yeast, pretty nice but marred by alcohol flavors, quite spicy, but also cardboard. I never would have called the Brett, but now that I see that it is in there, it’s easy to place as the source of that tart-bitter finish.

Lost Abbey is pushing toward something really good with this one -- I could see it evolving into a gem of an American (Christmas) abbey-style ale with a few minor tweaks.

Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a thin, light tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, alcohol, malt, and a bit of sourness. Rich sweet taste, of dark fruits, raisins and malt and a bite of alcohol. Lingering sharp sweetness. Delicious.

Pours deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Beige head recedes to hug rim leaving spot lacing. Raisin and pit fruit aromas. Dark caramel, prunes from front to back with a dry, pepper finish.

Bottle. No head and kind of flat. Not sure but may have gotten a flat bottle based on what others have reported. Tasted great though with dark dried fruits and raisons coming through. A really nice spicyness that I really enjoyed. Great beer.

Bottle shared by wolf. Black in color, good frosty white head. Aroma was dark fruits, raisons, figs. Taste was sweet raisons other fruits, and a little spiceyness. I couldnt pick up on any of the sour (brett) in there. Texture and carbonation level were good as well. Overall a solid beer.
