comes on strong with raisins, fig and sugared dates. simple spice and some more exotic fruits on the palate. a bit sweet. maybe sazz hops? it was great but the brett was a little less present that i would have liked given all the strong fruit sugars.

Tasting at JoeMcphee’s. Loved to see that someone had brought this beer to the tasting, tough to find Lost Abbey on the east coast. Brown color, darker and and murky. Dark fruit, raisons, dates, spice, chocolate notes.

Bottle. Aroma is chocolate and nuts. Flavor is really spicy with peanuts, ginger and cocoa. I get some ripe fruits, like tangerine and papaya. Super complex with a prickly mouthfeel.

Sampled at Tomme Arthur Brewmaster dinner in Chandler AZ. Pours a blackish brown with a decent off white head. Aroma of rasins and yeasts. Flavor is rasins, spices, malt, and some crazy funkiness probably from the brett. I enjoyed this one.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep, dark leather color. Thin, bubbly, light white head. Aroma of dark fruits, candi sugar, maple syrup, and raisins. Nice mix of fruits and spices in the flavor. Pears, raisins on the fruit side. Cinnamon and nutmeg on the spice side. Roasted malt finish, very little warming alcohol.

Deep amber with hints of red and an off-white frothy head. Nose of dried fruit and hints of spice. Nice fruity flavor with more fruits coming out as the ale warms. Great texture and sweetness, almost hints of chocolate that hide the higher alcohol.
