Aroma of butterscotch, caramel and malt, deep copper, pours a small toffee head. Rich malty taste, pit fruits, tangy, buttery texture, very well balanced, luscious sweetness, fine bitterness too. Wonderful! "Thou shall not "...drink this beer quickly.

Thanks to Dragonstout. Pours a light brown with a slight tan head. Aroma is mostly cotton candy. Tastes of dark sweet fruits, Belgian yeast, vanilla, a little brown sugar. Finishes with a sticky palate, yet the sweetness is not overwhelming. Rather enjoyable.

Tasting, courtesy of Fordest’s event. Beer #12. Rerate on 4-30 immediately after root canal. Translucent brown pour with a small tan head. Nose with dark fruits and cola. The flavor is rich with vanilla and murky dark fruits that suggest something sinister is going on here. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. The finish is long with lingering raisins and sugar cane. Overall: Another winner from the folks at Lost Abbey. Re-rate note: Drank a bottle that had a year of age on it and I absolutely loved it. Upping my rating by a point.

Brown in color this poured a thin white/tan head that left little lacing. There were aromas of chocolate, fresh figs, orange zest, cinnamon sticks and a touch of bretty funk. The palate showed these darker flavors but had plenty of balancing acid. In fact, there was great balance in this beer from start to end. The flavors are fresh and finish with bitter chocolate. A very nice bottle to sit back enjoy over the night.

750, corked and baled. Murky dark brown with bright caramel highlights. Very light gray rim. Dusty cola and raisins on the nose. Light, almost watery body. Good fizz. Cola, raisins, caramel, wood, and nuts on the mid-palate. Mild sweet fruity finish. This one’s a pleasure to drink but can’t quite stand up to the level of quality elsewhere in the LA line.

A delicious Belgian strong courtesy of cbkschubert. Thanks man! I’ve been looking to get a hold of a Lost Abbey beer for quite some time and finally did. This was a very good American Belgian. Aroma was so so. Could pick up some dark fruit and a little roasted malt. Pour was a nice hazy brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was outstanding. Dark fruit and yeast stand out in the front but make way for a hint of roasted malt in the aftertaste. Very little carbonation. Nice beer.

Aroma of malt, spice and fruit. Pours a dark brown and ruby with light, head is subtle and white. Flavor begins with a dark fruit, possibly raisins or figs moving into a malted flavor. It finishes smoothly with a second fruity taste that lingers for an impressive amount of time.

22oz. Wonderful malt and spice aroma. Pours lead colored body with light off white head. Begins a soft malt flavor and eases into raisins, cinnamon, fig and plum, molasses and vanilla hints. Finishes inexplicably smooth. Thou shalt like it.
