Glints of ruby come through, and the nose is quite big and plummy, with dark fruits suggesting a grand cru. I suppose this bottle’s almost 6 months old, but I’m not getting any of the brett. Could be that the raisins are too strong - though I find them not too over the top, thankfully - but maybe this just needs more age. Quite solid, but a bit one-dimensional to me. yespr (12407), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Aroma is dried fruity and malty. Flavour is a blend of malty sweetness and something beyond this (undefineable malty/herbal note). Slight herbal note with a minor acidity into the finish, a quite dry finish. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA

Nose of mint, cardamom and spicy yeast. The flavor is equally spicy with chewy malt, some cinnamon and nutmeg, really balanced but super spicy. jeffc666 (1895), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Bottle purchased at BevMo: Oceanside, CA. High expectations met with huge disappointment. Not sure if the bottle was bad or what, but this one ended up a drain pour, a shame really. Smelled of old raisins and soap, lots of soap, no I mean a whole lot of soap. Think Palmolive. The flavor is the same story. The beer is almost still with only a hint at large, yes soapy, bubbles. joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

[Courtesy of BierKönig, quality tasting @ Papsoe] Spare rocky white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Muddy brown color. Aroma of bread, grain, flowers, perfume, herbs, raisin, prune. Also notes like a good Port Wine. Full bodied with an alcoholic texture and an average carbonation. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor in balance. Warming spicy sweet and lingering finish. Quit nice! 28-09-2007 Ungstrup (15382), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Bottled. A brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of vegetables and fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of berries and wood, the berries giving it a slight acidic edge, leading to a dry finish.
