Dark fruits and raisins, with a bit of grapeiness. Chocolate and anise. Some earthy notes as it warms. Appearance: Dark brown in color. Medium beige head was full and creamy with great retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Roasted malt with notes of coffee, chcolate, anise, brown sugar, and bread. Yeast and pepper. Huge dark fruit, with raisins as the star. Alcohol is there, but not unpleasant. A light tartness into the finish. Medium dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Really enjoyed this.
