| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 I would be happy to come back to this in six months to a year and see how it ages in the bottle and if the Brett becomes more pronounced. Already really nice. Good fruity yeasty malty nose. Great deep reddish brown, small vanishing head, good tan lacing. Taste of sweet dried fruit and sweet spice, malt, heavy slam of rich sweet chocolate and bitter espresso, thought without the overwhelming intensity of Judgment Day. Good round mouthfeel. Really enjoyable and possibly heading towards greatness; I expect this will have a higher rating in six months. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Bottle. Deep, chocolate brown color with garnet hues. Some ivory lacing but the head dissapates rather quickly. Tons of caramel aromas with some sweet dark fruits. Chocolate and caramel flavors. Dark fruits, mostly plums and raisins. Slight brett character but I may have talked myself into finding it. Dry but lingering finish. An incredibly complex beer. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Shared bottle, thanks to jasonmech77. Deep mahogany-brown body with a frothy beige head. Nutty aroma of roasted chestnuts, cocoa and caramel. Flavor is also big and nutty--like a ramped up dubbel with nice dark fruit highlights. Didn’t perceive any brett, but it would be interesting to lay one or two of these down for a while and see how it develops.

Raisens, dark fruit, spices, and bretty yeast in the aroma. Very powerful flavor, even after two other beers. Nice mix of sweet and slightly tart. BBB63 (4238), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Bottle acquired from John C and served with my buds in Taylortucky: A muddy brown with a minimal head and some lace, oily tears upon the glass. The aroma has notes of raisin, plum, tobacco, earthy and aromatic esters, moderate spices, wood, and a hint of old world oxidation. The taste starts big with rich fruits and dark bready malt over layers of yeast and subdued hops. The finish is woody and smoky with hints of mineral water. The mouth feel is rich and sharp with a chalky dry finish. WONDERFUL expression of the brewers art, thanks Tomme for yet a great beer to enjoy and for John getting me a bottle. The aroma consists of caramel, chocolate, plum, raisin, and moderate alcohol. It pours a muddy orangish-brown with a small tightly bubbled beige head. The flavor starts with chocolate, plum, and raisin with some faint smokiness in the background. It finishes somewhat sweet with notes of candi sugar, light spice, and faint alcohol. Looks like I dig this more than most. cbkschubert (2004), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
