Rather black with a dense bone-colored head. Rich aroma of coffee, chocolate, and fig. Taste reminds me of woody chicory coffee with with some medicinal, yet pleasant notes, and a light smokiness in the finish. Reminds me of a pumpkin beer with a few spice substitutions. $3.5/13oz

Dark brown with a big light brown foamy head. Aroma of dark fruits and brown sugar. Flavors are between a full on assault of plummy dark fruits, couple with some cola and molasses. Full body, almost overwhelming in the middle with good carbonation and a subtle alcohol presence. Very nice level of complexity, I wish I could get my hand on this more often.

Bottle. Dark brown body with red highlights and a small tan head that is very short-lived and fades into a thin film. Nose is toffee, anise, some bready notes. Flavor is licorice, spice, roast, coffee, dark chocolate, wood and dark fruit sweetness. Lightly bitter and drying in the finish. Very soft but medium full mouthfeel with good carbonation. Complex, good, but not great.

2008 edition: Brown, amber colored brew. Very nice aroma of rosemary, raisins and honey. Flavor is a nice balanced mix of raisins. rosemary and honey too, together with licorice and maybe other spices. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, a really nice brew!

Bottled, thx to NoiZe. Cloudy dark brown color, medium brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, bit spicy, some rosemary and honey (as mentioned on the bottle). Malty taste with a soft sweet spicy bite, nicely balanced. Slight fruity as well. Very enjoyable brew.

750 ml - Pours mahogany -- deep and sexy with a tan head. Real hot on the nose with peppermint and herbs (cardamom?). There really isn’t much smell there. Taste is chocolately and sweet dark fruit. I don’t taste the rosemary, but there are definitely some herbal notes. It’s minty and hoppy on the finish, along with lots of heat on the tongue. Creamy and medium-full bodied. Very interesting, but wanted a little more on the nose.
