Bottled, thx to NoiZe. Cloudy dark brown color, medium brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, bit spicy, some rosemary and honey (as mentioned on the bottle). Malty taste with a soft sweet spicy bite, nicely balanced. Slight fruity as well. Very enjoyable brew.

750 ml - Pours mahogany -- deep and sexy with a tan head. Real hot on the nose with peppermint and herbs (cardamom?). There really isn’t much smell there. Taste is chocolately and sweet dark fruit. I don’t taste the rosemary, but there are definitely some herbal notes. It’s minty and hoppy on the finish, along with lots of heat on the tongue. Creamy and medium-full bodied. Very interesting, but wanted a little more on the nose.

750 ml bottle from Binny’s (Orland Park, IL) shared with some friends. Pours an extremely dark reddish brown, near opaque, more reddish on the corners, with decent offwhite head that dies to a film and laces at the edges. Aromas are interesting for sure: sweet caramel and toffee malts beneath, a touch of fairly Belgian yeast that throws some good fruitiness, berry, good dark fruit underneath, especially raisin. A good light carbonation, medium bodied, tamer than expected. Vinous, as dark fruit makes a good presence. Good caramel and toffee underneath, light bitterness. A raisin bomb, if such exists.

Dark brown and cloudy, with tan head and slow foamy lacing. Rosemary dominates aroma, with notes of dark fruit. Good mouthfeel with mildly noticeable alcohol. Good aftertaste.

750ml bottle from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Orland Park, Illinois: It poured a dull brown body, nearly opaque, with a respectable head that remained respectable for only a minute or two. Then, film. The aroma was full of licorice and had old raisins, prunes, burnt chocolate, and a splash of white vinegar... the result being pretty medicinal. Pretty smooth mouthfeel. The flavor was somewhat like chewing on a twist of licorice and a crusty prune together whilst drinking grain alcohol. I.e., the nose promised and the taste renegged. It finished on a note of cherry pit bitterness, anise, and pencil erasers. Interesting, but not that good over all.

Bottle courtesy of BFC that I brought to Where the Wild Beers Are at The Gate. Pours a just clear, but still slightly hazed brown to light black with a thin white head. Caramel, roast, chocolate, raisins. Chocolate, light funk, plum/prune. Finishes up with a dry spicy note.
