750ml bottle acquired in trade with footy (thanks). Poured a medium to deeper mahogany color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of raisins, yeast, cherries, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of raisins, other dark fruits, and spices. Thinner body with the alcohol content well hidden.

Thanks to Cquiroga for giving me the chance to try this. I believe this bottle had at least a year on it, which I think would affect the overall brett character. Poured dark brown. Aroma was dark fruits and mustiness. Taste was prunes, raisins, other fruit, chocolate, and a very interesting musty finish. This was quite different and I really dug it. The brett added the slightest touch of musty funk. Nice.

Bottle received in trade from last years batch. Pours a ruby brown color with a small head and spotty lacing. Smell is chocolate, raisin, rosemary, the slightest funk, alcohol and dark fruit. Taste is similar with lots of yeasty chocolate flavor, rosemary, raisins, and hardly any barnyard or funk flavors. The alcohol was actually really well hidden in the taste. A very interesting beer that I can only really describe as savory. I wish I has cooked something up with rosemary prior to cracking this one open.

Dark brown in color with an average sized, light brown head with minimal-no lacing. The aroma is of yeast and rasins with a hint of chocolate. The flavor is of dark fruits and brandy with notes of coffee grounds and chocolate. Starts somewhat sweet and finishes bitter. The texture is syrupy. The second half of the bottle was much yeastier than the first; watch out for the dregs. Overall i’d say its a very enjoyable, well balanced beer with a very complex and aggressive flavor. Good, but not quite my style.

Wow, haven’t rated this beauty. Pour is a very dark brown with a perfectly forming head of a very light tan. The head is airy, frothy, well developed and very pure and authentic...very Belgian. Perfect appearance because it looks Belgian. Nose is very expressive and lively and mainly shows the spicing (ginger, pumpkin, allspice), but it also hints of raisins, dark fruits, wildness and Belgian yeast. Flavor is very well balanced with all the elements working well together. Spicing is still the dominant factor, but the flavor still gives hints of raisins, dark fruits, herbs and yeast. Like it quite a bit, but it has aged slow.

Pours with a small, off-white head covering an extremely dark brown body. Aroma of raisins, mint (menthol), molases, alcohol, and pitted fruit. Taste is very yeasty and malty with alcohol and raisins. Mouthfeel is syrupy with light bubbles.
