Brown body with a darker cetner. Light tan head, lasting and with great lacing. Nose of sour fruits, vinegar, oak, some mustiness, a bit of heat, and some funky yeasts. Smells a lot like a Sour Ale, specifically Red Poppy without the huge cherry notes. Tastes very similar as well. Acidic and sour from the vinegar and fruits, with a backing from the wood and earthy notes. Medium bodied, a bit flat feeling on the tongue. Long finish, fruity esters, vinegar, sour patch kids and another dose of phenol heat. It’s a very good beer, but this is starting to become a bit of a one dimensional brewery to me, even though that one dimension is amazingly well done. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA

Flaor taht is light caramelly and rich with a dryish light bitter finish. Light foamy mouthfeel. Very nice beer that is fruity and full. It’s very good. Good nose of wood, red wine and sour funk with some caramel. Light bodied with a dry chalky mouthfeel. Nice taste is on the dry side and mirrors the aromas with wet wood, funk, and dusty malts. A little caramel earthy sweetness sneaks in on the back side. Enjoyed the wine barrel brett essence. Very J. Pumpkinesque beer here, Amazing indeed. 118 DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA

Pours a dark brown with a nice red hue. Vinous nose with a sweey citrus backbone. Taste is all wine and a little over powering. The oak comes through but is overwhelmed by the wine. Light funk and citrus lemon tang also. Smooth bodied and good carbonation. Looking forward to the bottle and letting it age.
With a little age this should be a good beer. A little to much right now.

Nose was full on oaked sour cherry, lemon, and funked vinous tones. Tannic funk and sour citrus fruit and cheese flavors balance on hints of brown sugar and fig. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry woody finish. Great brew... ryan (1776), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

The nose is very vinous with lots of oak, toffee, dark fruits and lots of cherry. The flavor is fairly dry with vanilla, oak, cherry/berry, raisins and prunes. Medium body is soft with moderate carbonation. Finish is long and dry with a fair amount of tannins.
