Cloudy, light caramel color with a small but pleasant, slightly off-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet and sticky with a very slight caramel notes coming through, matched with just a hint of alcohol hitting the nose. Flavor is oaky, slightly sore and a little vinous. Very crisp and incredibly refreshing for a barrel aged beer. Very, very enjoyable and easy to drink. Slight brett/horseblanket notes which only serve to enhance the overall enjoyment of the beer.

750 ml bottle poured a cloudy orange brown with a lasting amber head. Aromas of red wine, oak, carmel, fruitiness and a hint of coconut. Palate was medium bodied smooth and slightly tart. Flavors of oak, vinousness, fruitiness, light carmel and cherry with a smoothj lightly tart lingering vinous finish.

750ml bottle. pours dense reddish-brown with off white head. nose is loaded with red wine, oak, dark fruit, wow an awesome nose. flavor is slight tannic, red fruits, red wine grape, oak, bready-caramel malt back bone, dry-earthy fruit finish. slightly acidic and sour in there too. med. body, lively carbonation. alcohol very well hidden. my only complaint is the flavor tends to be a tad short, but this is very well balanced, wonderful red wine oak elements that clearly works well with lost and found and improves that beer, its incredibly drinkable. what’s not to like? this should easily bring beer and wine lover together. its awesome. why the low (sort of) ratings? i don’t get it. some spent yeast found its way into the second pour and it subtracted that nice big red wine notes so i recommend keeping the yeast out of the pour.4.0. 4/30/08. my only additional comments are that this dried out a bit with age, a little less winey with a bit more brett notes coming through, perhaps some gritters in the wood found it way into this beer and are doing its thing in the bottle. not the most complex but an easy and satisfying drink that is lovely to have at any time and situation.4.0.

Rerate, with a bit more age on this one. Nice looking color as previously mentioned. Aroma was very nicely balanced; funk, fruit and wood. This one has developed nicely in terms of the flavor profile. Some caramel, vanilla and chocolate tones to go with the previous wood and sour funkiness. 3.7 to 3.8. Bottle courtesy of myself. Poured a murky reddish brown with a nice thinnish head. Got some brown blobs on my head; but I got the last pour. Aroma was bretty, oaky and wine/alcohol. Flavor was similar; a good amount of oak and sourness. I thought the aging did the underlying beer a service. Good beer.

Bottle, courtesy of alexanderj. Opaque brown pour with a thin film on top. Aroma is malty, but also kind of sour from wood and red wine and pineapple. The flavor is the same, very much like red wine with noticable alcohol and a somewhat bitter finish.

Bottle shared by puzzl (thanks!). Pours dark red-brown with off-white head. Aroma is very nice; plenty oaky and red wine is evident. After that though, there wasn’t much else. The beer seems to have fallen apart under the weight of the barrel aging. While the light flavor of red grapes and some oak touches are nice, I don’t really taste the underlying Lost and Found, which is disappointing. Average palate with a slightly sweet and sour finish.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a light tan head. Big red wine aroma with some backing malt and spice. Red wine flavor with oak, malt, spice, and yeast. Medium body. Lingering red wine and yeast with a bit of other darker malt. Wine barrel notes competely dominate. Nice, but not what I expected.
