Very interesting flavor profile that is hard to describe. It’s lke spices and a funk......but in a good way. Would compliment some cheeses rather well. Nice brew, but not something I’d want to drink every day. posikyle (165), Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Pours beautiful color. Great fuity aroma, nicely formed head. Taste is fruity at first, with a nice hoppy bitter finish to even it all out. Was a little maltier than I expected. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours a slightly fogged gold amber. Nose is like woody apples. Strong sweet tone is there too. Flavor is a tangy wood. Almost like this was aged in some type of wooden barrel. Feel is thick on carbonation and typical on liquid. Overall this is not really a favorite style of mine. Quite the opposite really. I can say without hesitation that it is one of my least. This one is pretty well made though and is even and consistent. If you can dig the style, give it a shot. For me though, I can’t say I will try it again, but that is only because of my personal tastes. jpman105 (4), USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Not one of Lost Abbey’s best beers. Moderate hoppy taste mixed with flavors of grapefruit. Nice lacing and lively taste. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy deep honey yellow color with a thinnish white head. Smells like any fizzy yellow beer but with a touch more sweetness. Tastes like a fizzy yellow beer on a few ’roids.Good and malty but thats about it. Nice and crisp palate with lots of body to it. Coats the mouth just a bit. Pretty classic beer, but honestly I was expecting something more. Snojerk321 (1968), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Bottle from Bev Mo. A beautiful glowing golden pour with a slight orange hue. Head was big, frothy and off white. Spotty lacing left on glass. Had kind of a musty, herbal aroma with notes of wheat, spice, clove, nutmeg, citrus and bananas. The flavor is semi sweet and a little spicy, Lost Abbey.....I love you. icejammer (2), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Liquid Gold, it lived up to it’s reputation and was worth the price. The golden color was mesmerizing and then I tasted it.
