Commercial Description:
From the French word "Garde" meaning something worth keeping, this Farmhouse Styled Ale is a most delicious companion to a loaf of freshly baked bread from the oven. Grab a seat on the porch, some soft cheese and a tree ripened apple from your grandmother's old orchard. Relax and watch the evening arrive as the afternoon sun is consumed by the illuminating moon over the gardens. We brewed Avant Garde for you, our friends and families. Here's to things worth guarding over. http://www.lostabbey.com

On tap at Stone World Bistro. Copper brown brew poured with just a bit of head. Somewhat yeasty aroma with light sweet malts. Flavor is slightly fruity with some spice, finishes with a little more hopiness. Fairly light body and easy to drink, but seeemed to be lacking complexity. Perhaps i should give the bottle version a try, and at warmer tempetures..

RFD Pizza Port/Port/Lost Abbey tastin 6/20 - An off ornage beer. Very light, balanced with a nice light hop flavor. Don’t really know about the style though

Cloudy copper color with a small white head on top. Huge malty flavor and aroma. A mixture of breads, dried fruits, clove, and spices bring this beer together. A nice refreshing summer beer that was enjoyed with friends.

Slightly hazy peach-gold hue with a frothy, just off-white head and champagne like carbonation. Big bready malts in the aroma along with peaches and other sugary fruits and soft herbal notes (cilantro and the like). White pepper as well. Taste is lightly honey at first with sweet fruits and a tangy acidity. Finishes somewhat dry and peppery with a tart apple aftertaste. Light texture with a slick mouthfeel and rapid carbonation. A dry spice taste builds with time. Still, a little underwhelming in the categories of malt/spice/fruits, I’d expect a BdG to be bold in at least one of those areas.

Copper colored ruby/amber bodied wth a small head. Sugary dried fruits, syrupy toffee malt notes are present with hints of apple cider and sugared apples. Wheaty blank finish, resembling malty syrup, apple, figs and prune. Falls a little flat in the finish, not bad but I craved more flavor.

Golden murky in color with a nice whit e head. Luscious aromas expel from the glass with pear, and spice. On the palate tangy with some carbonation. Flavors of fruit and spice and mild hoppiness. Fine lasting finish. Excellent .

750 ml. brown Belgian style bottle. Corked & caged. Muffled pop when cork removed. Not as carbonated as Red Barn Ale. Poured out a hazy orange color, with a sticky tan colored head. Aromas are of sweet apples, peaches, strong honey smells as well. Flavors are of fresh fruits, honey, slightly herbal, but well balanced throughout. Damn good beer overall.
