Pour is cloudy golden yellow with a fluffy three inch head which is quite lasting. Pretty lacing is left on the glass. I drank this outside on a sunny early evening and it captured the lighting perfect. Pretty beer. Aroma of grainy maltiness. A little bit of yeasty earthy spiciness behind that. Pretty muted nose. Taste is pretty big maltiness, cereal notes, some dry grassy Brett near the back. Nice cloves and pepper in the back / finish. Palate is medium, drying, fairly flat - low carbonation. This was an odd one though, it looked great, but smelled so so. Tasted really nice, but the palate was pretty flat. Overall net, is a nice drinkable beer, though quite short of special. Faint hints of pineapple from the anamoulus. Pleasant hop character. Subdued maltiness. Nothing not to like, but nothing to make it stand out in my eyes. Rciesla (3790), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Pineapple, brett, hints of cheese and some fruity floral esters. A bit of breadiness and horseblanket to round it out. Nice brew. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Pours a nice hazy golden with a massive tight sticky white head with a few odd sized bubbles mixed in to show the brett. Aroma is bready with pils malt and slight doughy, but it is already funked out with lots of stinky horsey brett brux character, with a light briney saltiness and some citrus hints. More citrus and funk come out in the flavor- hints of lime, tart in the end, horseblanket and stinky cheese, earthy and wet hay- almost a nice spicy rye malt character as well. Finishes real dry with a light citric and lactic tartness. I really liked this one. bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA

Nice yeasty flavor. I can definitly see the leather other people are saying... Damn there was a lot of beer at the throwdown. Beerlando (2352), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2009 Bottle, aged nearly a year. The body is a lightly hazy, medium golden hue. A foamy, off-white head leaves good archwork lacing. The nose is very bready and doughy, with mild bretty must overtones and a good amount of spice. More specifically, notes of cracked green peppercorns, dandelions, and hints of earthy dust all lend complimentary scents. Flavors are more subdued, again very bready and yeasty, but not as heavily spiced. Some floral hop notes offer bitterness, which works nicely with the dry, crisp palate and the balanced, soft carbonation. Another very nice saison from Lost Abbey. daknole (3023), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
